"As I sit to write this, I have taken a step back to go through memory lane! Reflecting on our journey together, from the humble beginnings to becoming a staple for luxury hair care for women of colour, I feel nothing but gratitude and a touch of nostalgia."

My fascination with hair began at the age of 14. I constantly changed my hairstyles, often landing in hot water with my father who believed I was too young to be experimenting. Despite this, my rebellious spirit thrived; I yearned for the hairstyles I desired. In cahoots with my mother, we would secretly style my hair, and I would hide from my father for a couple of days, knowing he wouldn’t notice. Reflecting on these escapades now always brings a smile to my face. Being academically successful at school certainly helped me get away with it!

At 18, I moved to France to pursue business studies. This journey briefly led me into modelling and subsequently to Switzerland—a stunning place, yet I struggled to find a good hair salon.

After graduating, I began working for Louis Vuitton, where I learned a great deal about luxury, customer service, and creating exceptional experiences. This inspired me to do something significant for women like me.

It was then that I decided to launch my brand, Mimi et Mina. After much consideration, I chose London as the ideal location. I packed my bags, moved, and never looked back, without a Plan B in place. Success was my only option; I had no family or friends to fall back on.

My determination paid off when, during an afternoon stroll with a friend, I stumbled upon the perfect premises. Although the landlord had another tenant in mind, I managed to persuade him to rent the space to me. Just 15 months after relocating to London, I was planning the launch of my boutique. Mimi et Mina was born.

The first three years were incredibly challenging, but through perseverance and a positive attitude, I began to establish myself as a reputable name within the industry. Mimi et Mina welcomed influencers and celebrities alike. What fills me with the most pride is the clientele and community I've built. Each woman who visits the salon is inspiring in her unique way and brings something valuable to the table.

I am thrilled about the upcoming milestone for Mimi et Mina, a new chapter that I hope will be life-changing for all of you, enhancing your experience with your hair.

I look forward to this new phase with optimism and excitement, eager to continue serving you in the best way possible.
